WEDDING CEREMONIES
As a nondenominational minister and wedding officiant, I perform many different kinds of wedding ceremonies, depending on the wishes and background of each couple. Every couple is unique and I have the honor of helping them create a ceremony that is personal for them, expresses their own heart-felt promises and love, and one that's fun and light-hearted.

Non-traditional Ceremonies
You may be one of many couples who do not want a traditional wedding ceremony, be it religious, spiritual, or nonreligious. Let's create a unique ceremony for you which could possibly include different ideas about seating, vows and ring exchange, involving other people in your ceremony, interacting with your guests, focusing on your story, and other approaches.

Spiritual Ceremony
This service is suitable for couples who want a spiritual, or nondemoninational, wedding ceremony, but wish to not have it tied to a specific religion. Many couples ask for a ceremony that is "spiritual, but not religious."
From a Spiritual Ceremony....
"There are no obligations on earth more sweet nor tender than those you are about to assume. There are no vows more solemn than those you are about to make, and there is no human institution more sacred than that of the home you are about to form."
A reading from the author, Kahlil Gibran: "Love one another but make not a bond of love. Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls..."

Christian Ceremony
This ceremony is provided for the bride and groom who share a Christian background, Protestant or Catholic. As I get to know you, I'll learn what's important to you in terms of your faith, prayer, scriptures, and Christian gestures.
A sample from a Christian ceremony: "The scriptures teach us that the covenant of marriage is a gift of God, a holy mystery in which two become one. As the groom and bride give themselves to each other today, we remember that Jesus made the wedding feast a sign of God’s love, and we’re grateful that the essence of that love is in this holy union."

Interfaith Ceremony
I enjoy blending the rites and meanings of different backgrounds and traditions in occasions of interfaith marriages. In a Catholic-Jewish wedding, for example, the Catholic element could include the Lord's Prayer, Old Testament readings, the marriage rites, and the nuptial blessing. The Jewish element is made up of such elements as wedding contract, signing the Ketubah, and breaking the glass. We can include traditions from each faith into one, blended ceremony. I have also performed ceremonies based on other religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and from Celtic and Native American traditions.

Same-Sex Ceremonies
l am honored to perform same-sex weddings, supporting couples and their families and friends in a celebration of their love story. Whether the couple wants a religious, spiritual, or secular wedding, I will write a personal ceremony for them which reflects their faith tradition and expresses the beauty of their relationship and the promises of their shared life.

Nonreligious Ceremonies
Should you wish to have a nonreligious wedding, we can create a ceremony that focuses on the love that's being celebrated and the promises you're making to one another, and one that honors your family. A nonreligious ceremony can include the vows you're making, sharing some highlights of your courtship, and other elements of your shared lives that we're sharing with your family and friends.

Ceremonies in Unique Settings
Many couples have their ceremony in wonderfully unique settings. I have performed weddings in many locations in the Denver area and throughout Colorado, and have officiated ceremonies on skis, in hot air balloons, on sailboats, deep in forests, above timberline, on rooftops, in snow storms, and other amazing sites. And I love capturing the essence of the particular site in unique expressions, like, "In our love for one another, we are lovers of the earth, of the meadows and woods, the mountains. And what we perceive in nature, we celebrate in our sacred union."

Unity Ceremonies
Couples often incorporate a symbolic unity gesture in their ceremony, and I'm happy to explain and explore different rituals with the bride and groom, helping them choose one that captures the feeling of their relationship. Just a few of the ones that we can look at are: hand fasting, wine and love letters, Aspen trees, glass ceremony, blessing of the rings by friends and family, broom jumping, sailor's knot, coin ceremony, shared wine, rose ceremony, unity candle, sand ceremony, and others.
