The most meaningful thing I'd like you to know about me is that I love this work and I put my whole heart into it. I am a certified wedding officiant and nondenominational minister, and have performed hundreds of weddings over a 25-year period. I honor people of all faiths, backgrounds, sexual orientation, and race. I perform spiritual and secular ceremonies.
In addition to my wedding work, I have served as a minister, counselor, chaplain, and seminary instructor. I have volunteered for a local community kitchen, assisting individuals and families with food and shelter. I've served as a community educator in the field of palliative care, working with Life Quality Institute to assist those with serious illnesses to receive physical and emotional support. I participate in a Colorado wedding association, networking with other wedding professionals. And I serve on the Board of the Embrace Foundation, an affordable housing program that fosters meaningful, balanced relationships in low-income communities. My bachelor's degree is in journalism/public relations and, before attending seminary and going into ministry, I worked in corporate communications, utilizing my public speaking, writing, and PR skills. I bike and play pickle ball, and I'm a sucker for live theater and big-production/musical films like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, La La Land, and The Greatest Showman. I enjoy photography and hiking in our beautiful Rocky Mountains. And I always find time for moments of soul-renewing silence. In this way, I feel that I'm always prepared to be fully present with my wedding couples, and to do the work I love.
Congratulations to Rev. Scott Awbrey on winning Wedding Wire's Couples Choice Award, recognizing him as among the top five percent of wedding professionals nationwide who demonstrate excellence in service, responsiveness, & professionalism.
